In honor of the many days ahead that will be dedicated to a sunny day out with friends, we’re sharing with you a few of our favorite local beaches and lakes that deserve a spot on your must-visit list!

Spring Lake Regional Park

When thinking of a Lake Day, this regional park might not immediately pop into your mind. But we’re here to change that! Visitors can get their daily exercise out of the way, thanks to the many hiking/biking trails, then head to the lake to relax or take part in some of the water activities offered. They have canoes, paddle boards, and peddle boats available for rent, as well as a kids area full of floating obstacle courses with a beach area for relaxing!

Pro-tip: Take advantage of any of the nearby locally owned restaurants or delis and bring in some lunch to enjoy!

If you’re looking for a lakeside destination that has it all, look no further than Lake Sonoma! Spanning thousands of acres, you can make this a daytrip destination or a weekend-long getaway. Lake Sonoma offers hiking and biking trails, camping grounds, plenty of boat launches, hunting/fishing options, and plenty of beaches to choose from!

Pro-tip: Bring your furry friends along as this Lake is pet-friendly (including Horses in select areas!)

Lake Berryessa

Escape to the largest lake in Napa County! Lake Berryessa is THE spot to embrace your outdoorsy adventures. Visitors are welcomed to set up at the campgrounds for the weekend take part in boating and paddle sports, hiking trails, fishing spots, and much more. Don’t count yourself out for a day trip – Set up a picnic on one of the many rec beaches and enjoy a swim after!

Johnson’s Beach

This beachy spot along the Russian River has been a legendary Bay Area summer spot for years! Visitors are invited to relax on the shoreline, or float that section of the river. If you’re looking for something a bit more adventurous, renting a kayak is a favorite activity and a great way to pass the afternoon.

Pro-tip: Bring a waterproof buoyant cooler and stop for lunch in a scenic, private spot as you float down the river!

Mom’s Beach (Forestville River Access)

Your new favorite day trip spot has arrived! A bit more quiet and relaxed than Johnson’s Beach, Mom’s is a perfect spot for a picnic followed by an afternoon of swimming, paddle boarding, or floating around the area. Mom’s is also a great option if you’re looking for a solo spot to relax and recharge.
