For those of you who have spent most of your lives living in Sonoma County, rainy days usually feel like an occurrence that is few and far between! But if there’s anything this past rainy season has taught us, when those cloudy skies strike you never know just how long you might be stuck inside. To help ease the cabin fever a bit, we’ve put together a list of our favorite indoor activities to save for a Sonoma County rainy day!

WINERY
Take shelter at Buena Vista Winery! With two tasting rooms, one just outside of the heart of Sonoma and one in the middle of downtown Napa, the Buena Vista tasting rooms offer an eclectic, tastefully crafted spot to enjoy some of the world’s finest wines. Steeped in history and tradition, Buena Vista is an ideal spot to spend your day.

Epicenter
It’s no secret, rainy days are tough on the little ones. Sometimes the best way to spend a day when you’re stuck inside is to find a way to help them get their energy out! Epicenter is an all-in-one destination for sports, recreation and fitness, dining, and more. Do yourself a favor, order a round (or two) of drinks, and let the kids run wild for the day. You’ve earned it!

Spa Day
Make it a spa day! Call us crazy, but we think there’s nothing more relaxing than spending a rainy day in a zen spa space. Some of our local favorites include Soul Rituals in Sebastopol, Osmosis Day Spa, and Indian Springs Calistoga.

Cooking Classes
Every day is a new opportunity to learn! Learning to cook, that is. Sign up for a cooking class at Sur la Table or Relish Culinary Adventures! You’ll get the chance to learn something new AND enjoy some yummy food (made by you!) in the process.

Museum
Immerse yourself in Sonoma County history. Take a trip to the Museum of Sonoma County, located in a historic post office building in Downtown Santa Rosa! Take in the unique history of your surroundings, then take a short walk to any of the nearby restaurants or bars to end your rainy day out.
But above all, when the rain clouds hit it is most important to keep you and your family SAFE. Use your best judgment, and plan a day that works best for you and yours!
